Students are required to attend every synchronous class via the Zoom links in Canvas every period.  Synchronous days for periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 are on Mondays and Thursdays.  Synchronous days for Nucleus and periods 2, 4, and 6 are on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Synchronous classes are where students receive live and direct instruction from their teacher.

Asynchronous classes occur on Wednesdays.  During this time students are not receiving live, direct instruction from teachers but rather going into Canvas and meeting the established teacher expectations and criteria for each class.

Teachers take attendance Monday through Friday for every period. To see the TIDE Distance Learning Bell schedule, please use this link or go to the tideacademy.org website.

Starting Monday, August 24th, any period where a student is marked absent will receive a robocall home around 5:30 pm. This call is meant to inform parents if a student has missed class.

Parent(s)/guardian(s) need to excuse absences just as they have done in previous school years.  According to State law, only absences for doctor appointments or illnesses are considered excused.  The parent or guardian should contact Rocio Chavez at (650)306-1755 (Option 1) at TIDE to excuse an absence.  If you call and receive the TIDE voicemail, please leave the following details:
  • Student first and last name
  • Student ID (if possible)
  • Date of absence
  • Periods of absence
  • Reason for absence

Parent(s)/guardian(s) have five days to clear an absence. After five days, it’s beyond anyone's ability to change.
